Manufacturing

Bill of materials

A bill of materials consists of drawings of manufactured goods and components. Documentation often also includes manufacturing operations and step-by-step instructions.

Further configuration

Product variants

The application allows you to use one bill of materials (BoM) for different variants of the same manufactured product. Having a consolidated BoM for a product with variants saves time by eliminating the need to manage multiple BoMs.

Use kits

A kit is a type of bill of materials (BoM) that can be produced and sold. Kits are sets of components in disassembled form sold to customers. They can be sold as individual products but are also useful tools for managing more complex bills of materials (BoMs).

Semi-finished products

Semi-finished products are used to simplify complex specifications or to more accurately represent the manufacturing process.

Work centers

The application allows you to execute work orders at specific work centers. To use work centers, you must first enable the Work Orders feature.

Work order dependencies

To ensure that operations are completed in the correct order, work order dependencies can be configured. Enabling this option allows Bill of Materials (BoM) operations to be blocked by other operations that must be completed first.

Workflows

Master Production Schedule

The Master Production Schedule (MPS) is a valuable tool for planning production based on demand forecasts.

Scrap

When a component or finished product is disposed of, it is removed from physical inventory and placed in a virtual location. A virtual location is not a physical space but a designation used to track items that are no longer in the physical inventory.

Backorders

In cases where the full quantity of a production order cannot be produced immediately, the application allows the production of partial order quantities and creates a backorder for the remaining amount.

Split and merge manufacturing orders

The application allows you to split a production order containing multiple units into two or more orders, or combine two or more orders into one order.

Unbuild orders

If too many units of a product have been produced, or if components of one product need to be salvaged for use in the production of another, the products can be disassembled and their components returned to the warehouse using disassembly orders.

Shop Floor

Overview

The application provides a visual interface for processing manufacturing orders (MOs) and work orders. It also allows production employees to track the amount of time spent on production and work orders.

Time tracking

The application tracks the time required to complete each work order, as well as the time each operator spends on them.

Subcontracting

Subcontracting provides a number of benefits for both the contracting company and the subcontractor. It helps contracting companies remain flexible throughout economic cycles because they can easily increase or decrease the scope of their commitments with subcontractors depending on current needs. It also allows them to focus on the tasks they excel at while delegating more specialized work to subcontractors.
